Have you ever found yourself bored at networking events—listening to speakers who just don’t resonate with you? I’ve been there. Often. And eventually, I hit a crossroads: either stop going or create the kind of event I actually wanted to attend.
So in August 2018, I took the leap. I launched my first event in London with speakers I genuinely wanted to learn from. What started as a simple experiment turned into something bigger than I could’ve imagined. Here's how it happened—and why it matters.
From the very beginning, I had a clear vision: build a stage for the voices that inspired me. Not just for me, but for others who were tired of the same old corporate scripts and surface-level conversations.
The heart of every event was the speaker lineup. I wanted speakers who were authentic, experienced, and unafraid to bring a fresh perspective. I reached out to people I followed on LinkedIn, professionals I admired from afar—and to my surprise, they said yes.
They weren’t just knowledgeable. They were real, engaging, and eager to connect. That authenticity set the tone for everything that followed.
We often talk about “connections” online—but nothing beats meeting people face to face. These events gave me the opportunity to turn digital contacts into real relationships. And it gave everyone else in the room that same opportunity.
The result? People didn’t just come to listen. They came to engage. They stayed after. They collaborated. They kept in touch. And they kept coming back.
What I didn’t expect was how deeply impactful giving back would become. For that first event, I donated the ticket proceeds to a local charity. It was a simple decision, but it added a layer of meaning I hadn't anticipated.
Every event wasn’t just about learning—it became a way to make a difference. As we grew, we made it a principle: every ticket sold would support a local cause.
That shift changed everything. Attendees weren’t just showing up to learn; they were contributing to something bigger. That energy transformed our events into a mission-driven community.
From London to San Francisco, Toronto to Melbourne, we’ve now hosted 35+ events. At each one, we’ve partnered with local charities—turning learning into lasting impact. And we’ve been able to do this thanks to a network of people who care, connect, and show up with purpose.
On 29th November, we’re bringing our 37th event to Manchester—and it’s going to be one of our best yet. We’ll be supporting Forever Manchester, a brilliant local charity, and hosting an iconic panel on social selling.
Our speakers bring diverse perspectives on social selling—from strategy to storytelling to brand authenticity. You’ll walk away with fresh ideas, new contacts, and a renewed sense of possibility.
So if you’re in Manchester, come join us. Learn, connect, and contribute to something meaningful.
This community has taught me that great events don’t just happen—they’re built on shared energy, values, and intention. I can’t wait to host you and introduce you to a room full of inspiring people. It’s going to be a night to remember.
What started as boredom turned into a global community rooted in connection, learning, and giving back. And the best part? We’re just getting started.
If you’ve ever felt disconnected at traditional events, maybe it’s time to build your own. Or join one that speaks to who you are and what you believe in.
Because when you follow what lights you up, others will show up, too.
